  • Walking: There are a number of walks available direct from the site and we are conveniently located for walking in the north Pennines and the Lake District National Park. Ullswater is less than 15 miles away where you will find some fantastic walking routes. One of our favourite routes takes in Lacy's Caves and Long Meg Stone Cirle - view route
  • Cycling: The official C2C cycle route is only a mile away along with many other cycling routes both on and off road.
  • Golf: Penrith Golf Club is less than 8 miles away, which offers a par 69, 18 hole course with fantastic Lake District views including Blencathra and Helvellyn.
  • Settle to Carlisle Railway: An hiistoric scenic railway with 11 stops on route. Lazonby station is a very short walk from Mains Farm. From here you can either travel north west to Carlisle, or south east to Settle - view details
  • Lazonby Swimming Pool (1.7 miles): A 17m x 8m heated outdoor swimming pool (26ºC). There are qualified lifeguards on hand, plus a range of pool toys and floats, hot showers, picnic area, play area and a kiosk selling drinks and snacks.
